Just bought some Tommy Walsh "brand" 20ml hi-vis superglue plus 100 ml accelerator in Poundland (for, you've guessed it, a penny over 99p) to replace my rapidly emptying "kit" costing quite a bit more.
Also got other superglue packs, same brand, and other "stuff"
I bought a bunch of inexpensive sandpaper and wet n dry, same brand. OK for jigs etc - 3M Gold's just not necessary)

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I've been getting it there for years! Wilkinsons and Aldi are also good places for cheap tools if you get there on the right week. I saw a dremel type multitool in aldi a while ago for about £20!

I buy quite a bit of consumables and some tools from , Lidl, Aldi and Poundland.
Just this was the first time I saw superglue accelerator.
(BTW, B & Q sold me a dremel type tool, with extension and 2 boxes of accessories for £9.00, which strangely enough still works well after 5 years)
